Exploring Ancient Metropole of Academia, Oxford

Milí čitatelia 

Dnes by som Vám chcela rozpovedať moje piatkové dobrodružstvo. 

Ako som prišla do Anglicka tak som si pozerala na internete miesta ktoré za ten čas čo som tu by som rada navštívila. Musím veru povedať som tu rok a pól a veľa som toho kvantitatívne nevidela čo popri škole ktorej nemám extravagntne veľa by sa dalo, no na dlhšie výlety sa mi moc nedá ísť pretože mám skoro každý deň školu. Tento týžden sme mali progression week, teda niečo ako "študijné prázdniny" :D, tak som to super využila. Jedno z prvých miest čo je na mojom Anglickom wishliste bol Oxford. Fascinujúca metropola vzelania, staré budovy, múzeá nádych starého Anglicka. 

Tak v piatok, s kamarátom sme sa vybrali na výlet, sadli sme na vlak o 8:39, cesta trvala približne hodinku a pól, fantázia. 

Prišli sme na stanicu ktorá musím povedať vyzerala nie celkom vábivo nato že wau Oxford študentské, turistické mesto, no samoška splňovala všetky funkcie ako napr. dvoje potraviny a trafika :).  Zo stanice do centra diania to je približne 10 minút.

LEN TAK POMEDZI SLOVKO: odteraz sa posnažím písať aj po anglicky, keby náhodou sa tu našli aj zahraniční čitatelia aby mali možnosť aj slovne nahladnuť do tohoto blogového príbehu, či vy verní, českoslovenci si radi prečítate aj v angličtine :).

Dear readers 

Today I would like to tell you something about my Friday's adventure. 

When I came to England, I started checking on internet places which I would like to visit during my studying adventure. I have to say, during the one and half year which I am here I have not seen a lot of cities, however I am not crazy busy with university I would be able, otherwise I have university almost everyday. This week we had progression week, which means something like "studying holidays" :D, therefore I used this opportunity. One of th places on my English wishlist was Oxford. Fascinating metropole of academia, ancient architecture, museums, "fresh air" of old England. 

On Friday with friend we went for THE trip, took the train at 8:39am, route was approximately hour and half, amazing. 

We came to the train station, which did not look that pretty, for city of Oxford, student and tourist place, however of course it fulfils
 its basic facilities :). 

From station it took 10 minutes to the city centre. 

Ako prvé nás nohy zaviedli do Covered Market, super miesto na originálne suveníry, čerstvú zeleninu, ovocie, kvety a mäso od domácich podnikateľov. 

As first foots took us to the Covered Market, great place for original souvenirs, fresh veggies, fruits, flowers, and  meat from locals. 

Ďalej sme sa nehali viesť inštinktom, a dostali sme sa k Radcliff Camera a Bodleian Library. Wau bola som očarená z tej "kamery", tak krásna budova a okolo ňej ďalšie dychberúce :). 

As next, we let ourselves follow the instinct, and we made it to the Radcliff Camera and Bodleian Library. And wow, I was spellbound by the "camera", such a splendid building and other breath taking all around :). 

Neskôr sme nahodili do Google Maps, Nature & History Museum, popri tom sme mali možnosť vidieť rôzne fakulty/ colleges a pobehujúcich študentov, aka najmúdrejšie mozgy? 

Múzeum bolo parádne, história ziveracích druhov ktoré už vyhynuli, kotré ešte sú medzi nami (klop klop chráňme ich), fosílie, vzácne kamene, hmyz, taktiež Indiánske, Mexicke, Africké kmeňe, a momentálne tam je exhibícia o ženách venujúcich sa antropológii čo ma veľmi zaujalo. 

Later on, we set to Google Maps, Nature & History Museum, by the walk there we were able to see university colleges and students walking around, aka the most clever brains? 

Museum was amazing, history of animals which already extinct, the ones which are still here (knock, knock let's take care of them), fossils, great rocks, insect, also Redskin, Mexican, African tribes history and currently there is an exhibition about ladies devoted to the anthropology, which I was really interested in. 

Po múzeu sme sa motali znouvu uličkami a hľadali správne "to" miesto na obed. 

After museum we were strolling through the streets and looking for the "it" place for lunch.

A našli sme! Mali klasické jedlá no aj dobrý výber vegetariánskych možností :). Ja som mala sladký zemiak na šošovici s niečim špecifickím čo už neviem čo bolo :D, mandľovým pestom a šalátek, no a oproti vidíme anglickú klasiku :D.

And we found! They had the classics but also great range of vegetarian options :). I had sweet potato on lentil with something specific I do not even remember :D, almond pesto and salad and oppostie we can see english classic :D. 

Neskôr  sme ešte prechádzali uličkami a narazili sme na veľmi malebný obchodík
so zápisníkmi, perami, listovými sadami, študentskými potrebami a kade čím pekným. Tento obchodík mal v sebe čosi záhadné, pripomínalo mi to Harryho a Alice a in the end by som povedala, keď si vždy odteraz pomyslím na Oxford toto bude prvá vec čo mi vyskočí ako spomienka :).

Later on we were walking around petit streets and found lovely small shop with stationery and study supplies and everything possible cute. This shop had something mysterious inside, something to do with Harry and Alice and in the end I would say, each time I will remember of Oxford this will be the first thing in my head as a memory :).

Našou poslednou zastávkou bolo Science Museum ktoré bolo tiež fascinujúce, no musím povedať nature sa mi páčilo viac možno aj tým že to science malo mnoho podobých predmetov ktorým som veľmi nerozumela :D.

Our last stop was Science Museum which was also fascinating, but I have to say nature one I liked more, perhaps the science one had a lot of similar objects which I did not understood :D.



Ku koncu sme ešte pobehali trošku obchody, a sadli na vlak.

In the end we checked for a bit shops and than took the train back home.



Oxford by som zhodnotila ako super nápad na jednodenný výletík, sú tam super múzeá zadarmo, kaplnky, do niektorých fakúlt sa dá aj nakuknúť, je tam cítiť ten skvelý oxfordský, študenský a hisotrický nádych. Na kúsok som si predstavila aké by to tam asi bolo študovať no myslím že som veľmi spokojná s prostredím čo mám tu je o niečo menšie, pokojnešie a menej turistické.
 A najlepšia vec? Motať sa uličkami a hľadať tajuplné zákutia :).
Ak máte radi Alicu z Krajiny Zázrakov a Harryho Pottera, istotne tam zacítite aj tento vánok :).

I would asses Oxford as a great idea for one day trip, there are amazing free museums, chapels, you can peep in to couple of faculties, and you can fell that it oxford-ish spirit. For a bit I imagined how it would be to study there, however I think I am very satisfied with environment I am in now, a bit smaller, more calm and less touristic. And best thing? Just walk around, explore the streets and find mysterious places :).
If you fancy like Alice in Wonderland and Harry Potter, you will feel there that spirit as well :).
